ZOEY A. BUTLER (she/her)
Zoey is seeking strategic roles in research, grantmaking, or program development, particularly with philanthropic funders. She is especially interested in Program Officer positions where she can use her skills in research, systems-building, and outcome measurement to drive thoughtful, high-impact funding decisions.
A writer by trade, Zoey has contributed to Hack as the organization’s Senior Development & Alumni Relations Manager. In her role, she led research and analysis efforts that informed strategic direction, program design, and organizational messaging. She was responsible for the thoughtful stewardship of institutional relationships and the development of compelling proposals that advanced fundraising goals. Zoey also led the design and launch of scalable Alumni programming and built systems, resources, and community infrastructure that now support over 600 Alumni across multiple cohorts.
Prior to joining Hack.Diversity, she served as the Strategic Initiatives Manager at a 40-year-old Tampa non-profit where she led the acquisition of multi-year, seven-figure grants supporting mental health and entrepreneurship programs for women and underserved communities. She also played a key role in organizational strategy—developing new programs aligned with funder priorities, conducting prospect research, and partnering with senior leadership to drive cross-functional planning.
She later joined the Straz Center for the Performing Arts as Capital Campaign Coordinator, where she supported the strategic planning and execution of a $100 million campaign. In that role, she led the development of internal and external messaging assets, conducted high-level prospect research, and implemented operational systems that improved both donor engagement and tracking infrastructure.
Zoey holds a dual degree in Creative Writing and Humanities from Antioch University.
